Is Cafe Xoho kosher? It is now!

There hasn’t been much news from the kosher world of Tel Aviv lately, but this is a nice development.

One of Tel Aviv’s favorite cafes, Cafe Xoho (which for years was not certified kosher), has gotten a hechsher!

Not familiar? Cafe Xoho is an American-style café cherished for its vegetarian delights. The ambiance, adorned with unique art, a relaxed house cat, and a diverse chalkboard menu, evokes the vibe of a quaint café in San Francisco’s Haight district. This café, founded by Xoli Ormut-Durbin with roots in Hong Kong and Canada, started as a hidden treasure for locals, boasting expertly roasted coffee and friendly, familiar waitstaff. In a city passionate about cafes, Tel Aviv, Xoho distinguishes itself with its homemade offerings: from bagels topped with beet-cured salmon to rich chocolate chip cookies, a flavorful kale Caesar salad, and even homemade jams and spreads. Their menu features an extensive juice bar, highlighted by the must-try purple lemonade, and a vast array of vegan and gluten-free options, including the popular mushroom bacon. They’re always stocked with soy and almond milk, and their Matcha Green Tea lattes, available hot or cold, are a hit. It’s a place where, like many of its regulars, you may find yourself lingering longer than planned.
