These are Tel Aviv’s best kosher breakfast spots

Cafe Xoho

Cafe Xoho is a relevant newcomer to the kosher scene, but they’ve quickly made up for lost time. If you go on Friday morning (or really any morning), you’ll quickly find out that this is the default breakfast choice for the old north community. Every time we go, we’re basically guaranteed to run into friends which makes this place extra fun. And of course, the food does not disappoint. The menu isn’t huge, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in deliciousness.

Kirsch

French Toast at Kirsch in Tel Aviv

Kirsch is a popular kosher brunch spot located on Dizengof Street in Tel Aviv (near Arlozorov). It’s primarily well-known for its delicious brunch dishes, especially the French toast and blueberry pancakes. But be warned, their special brunch dishes are rich – not the sort of dishes you could eat every day.

On regular weekdays, you should have no problem getting a table for brunch. But on Fridays, expect a wait of up to an hour. It’s not uncommon for the sidewalk to be blocked by people waiting to get a table. (They don’t take reservations on Fridays)

Overall, Kirsch is a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying brunch in Tel Aviv. With its hip location and specialty dishes, it’s no wonder that it has become a popular destination for locals.

Lorenz and Mintz

Lorentz & Mintz might be the most well-known kosher breakfast spot in Tel Aviv. Despite the high prices for breakfast dishes (55-75 shekel, but I guess that’s the norm these days in Tel Aviv), the complimentary appetizers, drink, and side salad make it good value for money. The croque madame is highly recommended and is rich and flavorful with truffle and mushroom cream sauce. Service is great even on busy days, making it a memorable breakfast spot.

Asimi

If breakfast or brunch overlooking the sea is what you’re looking for, Asimi is exactly that. Aside from hotel breakfasts, Asimi is the only kosher breakfast in Tel Aviv (to my knowledge) to be first-line to the sea. They did a great job giving the place a beachy yet classy vibe. All we got was the Israeli breakfast (which was great) so we can’t say too much about the food. But the vibe and views are second-to-none.

Liati

Liati Cafe in Tel Aviv

Liati is a fairly well-kept secret in Tel Aviv. It’s tucked away, not on a major street, which means it’s a place you can escape to. It’s probably even a great place to open your laptop and get some work done. Make sure to try a muffin – they’re delicious.

Birenbaum Cafe

Birenbaum Cafe breakfast

Birenbaum Cafe, located on Nahalat Binyamin street, has been a beloved coffee shop for the past 50 years since it opened in 1962. The cafe is famous for its scrumptious breakfast deals that include a selection of fresh breads, eggs cooked to order, jams, pastes, and a salad. But what really sets Birenbaum apart is its outstanding vegetarian lunch buffet, featuring over 40 different kinds of salads, casseroles, homemade pastries, and vegan dishes. This self-serve buffet is widely regarded as one of the best places for vegetarians and vegans in Tel Aviv.

Lechem V’Chaverim

Lechem Ve Chaverim Breakfast

Lehem Vehaverim is a Tel Aviv bakery that brings the essence of French bakery culture to Israel. The founders, two French Jews, opened the bakery to share their love for French pastries and bread. The bakery’s attention to detail and French finesse can be seen in every dish. They offer Israeli and French breakfasts, and the pastry chef studied in France.
