Kanki review: The best kosher sushi in TLV

Kanki will always hold a place in our hearts because we went there on our first date. It’s not the most elegant place – you’re lucky if you’re not rubbing shoulders with the people sitting next to you. But without a doubt, Kanki serves the best kosher sushi in Tel Aviv.

We recommend booking a table there because most nights there’s a crowd of people on the sidewalk waiting for a table. And if you listen to the crowd, the main language you’ll hear isn’t Hebrew or English – it’s French. Kanki has become one of the staples of kosher French Tel Avivians. And if there’s one thing you can trust the French with, it’s food.

We won’t go into the details of which sushi rolls are best, because they’re all spectacular, but since this is a dairy restaurant, some of the starters are not to miss either. Try the mozzarella sticks!

Prices at Kanki aren’t cheap, but we think you’ll walk away having had some of the best kosher sushi you’ve ever had, so we think it’s worth it.
